Sound Absorption Panels Reduce Reverberation Times & Enhance Learning in the Classroom

Learning is only possible in a quiet classroom environment where the rooms reverberation time is short. If the classroom is not a quiet learning environment then the addition of sound absorption panels fitted to the ceiling or walls will lower noise levels and shorten reverberation times.

Reverberation time (RT60) is the time it takes for the average sound level in a room to decrease by 60 decibels once the original source of the sound has stopped. In any room which is constructed from hard materials the sound will continue to be heard for long periods of time as a result of it being reflected off these hard surfaces even once the source of the original sound has stopped transmitting.
